Review: Queen B Official

I'm sure many of you have noticed the increasing trend of living a healthier balanced lifestyle. Espeically with all those picture perfect instagram posts you cant' help but want to positively alter your life. One of the trends I've noticed has been the popularity of natural detox teas; whether it be for weight management (seemingly the most popular), skincare, sleep etc. more and more people are interested in their benefits.

I received my first package of detox tea from Queen B Official which is a company based out of Melbourne, Australia. Their aim is to discover, share and pass on health benefits to people worldwide. The company offers a wide range of carefully selected teas to help battle many common health issues. Their teas are broken up into 4 categories: Weight management, Skin, PMS/Menopause and Sleep. I received the 20 day complexion cleanse and I'm actually sipping on mine right now as i write this post.

Queen B claims: this is a caffeine free tea with ingredients specially chosen to help replenish collagen and elastin back into the skin and to air in the elimination of pimples, acne, blemishes, dry skin and scare tissue repair. This is perfect because during the winter here in Canada our skin can get really dry and coarse. The tea comes in two sizes $24.00 for 20 days and $65.00 for 60 days. You are to infuse 1 teaspoon in a cup with 200ml boiling water for up to 8 minutes. I personally found this size to be a bit small but that is because i am a tea drinker and generally drink larger amounts, however if tea isn't you thing then this a good size that comes with skincare benefits.

My initial thought of this tea is that it tastes like unsweetened chrysanthemum tea. The taste didn't bother me much as i just added honey to sweeten it. Just one cup of tea a day whenever it is convenient, in my case I drank one before bed each night. I noticed my skin cleared up throughout my 20 day cleanse and overall I am pretty satisfied with the results. I would recommend giving Queen B teas a try. You can shop the whole collection here.

Review: D I R T E A

Hey everyone, I am back with another review. There are many great companies out there who all offer amazing products and I am grateful to have been able to work with various ones all around the world. This review in particular is about a company called D I R T E A based in Brooklyn, New York.

D I R T E A offers modern tea-infused body and face scrubs that are 100% natural, 100% organic and 100% vegan. The main focus of getting D I R T E A is about using the benefits of the best natural ingredients for your skin. They source their organic tea's only from the best suppliers and stand behind their products 100%. The teas are packaged in high grade, recyclable, poly-foil pouches that are immediately heat sealed at source for ultimate freshness. The result is exceptionally fresh tea scrub every time. A full pack of 200g gives you about 8 - 10 uses and is said to last about a month. Currently, D I R T E A offers 2 different face/body scrubs, 1 white tea facial mask and a soothing rose water face/body mist. You can check out the shop here and remember to use the code LOVE10 to save 10% off your purchase.

I received the Chai + Coconut dry skin treatment which is perfect as winter doesn't seem to want to disappear. It is almost March and we are still expecting snow here in Toronto, but that's a whole other story on its own. D I R T E A claims the following:

"Our best dry face/body scrub is clinically proven to exfoliate dead skin cells while refining the appearance of pores without over-drying or irritating skin"

As mentioned earlier they stand behind their products 100% so if you are not fully satisfied with the product they offer a full return. In my personal opinion the scrub did what it claimed to do and I did see immediate results. My only complaint is the smell but that is because i personally don't like coconut, however if coconut is something you love you will definitely have no problem.

Happy Layers

I've been dressing a bit more conservative lately. I don't know if it is because of the weather or because I've been doing a lot of running around from my fulltime to afterwork meetings that has influenced my style lately. I've been reaching for more layers and loose fitting items as suppose to my love of dresses. Speaking of which, I feel like the ground hog isn't too accurate this year as he predicted we'd have an early spring. All we've been getting is snow and more snow. I am really looking forward to the warmer weather, but as for now I am happy in my layers. ^_^

Review: Jealous Body Scrub Coconut + Coffee

Coffee scrubs have become quiet popular over instagram lately and I couldn't help but wonder if they are worth all the hype. My curiosity was satisfied when I received my first coffee scrub from a company called Jealous Body Scrub last week.

This Vancouver based company is different from other coffee scrubs because it is the only all-natural coffee based body scrub. The scrub is made of all natural ingredients such as premium Robusta coffee grounds, cold pressed coconut oil, raw brown sugar, sea salt, vitamin E and minerals. There are no added fragrances or chemicals and because of this it smelt exactly like how i expected it to - Coffee. It retails at $17.95 (CAD) with free shipping within Canada and USA and $3.95 anywhere else in the world. Like most coffee scrubs, Jealous does get messy but I'd trade that for soft skin any day.

The instruction says to apply 2-3 scoops on wet/damp skin and scrub in circular motions. I felt that the coffee grinds gently exfoliated without being too harsh on my body and face. I left the scrub on for about 15-20 minutes and I noticed immediate results. My skin felt smoother and softer and not to mention the lovely coffee aroma that sticks around. The 200g package is good to last up to six months after opening, however I believe the scrub will be long gone before then.

I definitely will be adding Jealous Body Scrub to my list of regular skincare products and would recommend giving this coffee scrub a try. Jealous Body Scrub is currently only sold online. So go ahead, lets make others Jealous.....

The Duster

Duster (clothing) - A duster is a light, loose-fitting long coat.
Originally the duster coat was a loose, full length coat worn by horsemen to protect their clothing from dirt road dust. These dusters were normally light coloured and made from light weight material such as canvas or linen. A slit up the back provided ease for movements while on a horse and at the turn of the century, both men and women wore dusters to protect their clothes while riding an open top car.
As we slowly transition into spring, I've noticed more and more stores to carry their own version of the duster coat. Moving away from the traditional earth tones now duster coats can be seen available in all sorts of colours and patterns. My favourite thing about this coat is how light weight and flowy it is. I definitely will be adding more to my closet this upcoming season.
