WMCFW: Day 4

As mentioned in my previous post I attended the World Mastercard Fashion week during the later part of the week. Here are the details from my outfit from Day 4 where I attended the Soia & Kyo show. The thing i love about pleather leggings is not only are they super comfortable and versatile they are more formal than the regular leggings. Pair them with any top and you are good to go from day to night.

World Mastercard Fashion Week: Recap S/S 2015

Happy Monday, I hope you all had a great weekend. As another season rolls around, Toronto Fashion week filled the tent at David Pecaut Square with much Canadian talent. The World Mastercard Fashion Week (#WMCFW) ran for a week from Monday October 20 to Saturday October 25th. Although i wished that i could have attended the entire week, work and other responsibilities came fist. With this giant white tent held many influential fashion individuals such as designers, fashion directors, stylist, journalist, photographers and bloggers to name a few. This season I was able to attend the Soia & Kyo, HD Homme and Fashion Saturdays which all took place during the later part of the week. Below is a recap of the collections and what we can expect for the coming season.

Soia & Kyo - October 23rd @ 8:00pm
With a soft neutral palette of cream, greys, and oatmeal the collection focused on the city-goer with a country escape. The models strutted down the runway in effortlessly drape coats and comfy loafers some of whom was accompanied by an adorable french bulldog. Yellow and burnt orange was used as a feature colour which i felt gave the collection the whole "fresh new look" feeling. I felt in a love with a few pieces and I will definitely keep them on my radar for when they become available for purchase.

HD Homme - October 24th @ 6:00pm
Mesh was a key element in the luxury menswear collection. It was used on pants, bomber jackets and trench coats throughout. Working mostly with black and reds the collection redesigns old Hollywood glam. Overall it was a great collection and it was nice to see the spotlight on men for a change.

Fashion Saturdays - October 25th @ 1:00pm
This was the first time I attended Fashion Saturday and was really looking forward to it. The session was broken down into 3 parts: The consumer experience, upcoming fashion and beauty trends for Spring/Summer 2015, and highlights from the S/S 15 runways. Although I personally prefer the shows, Fashion Saturdays is a great option for those looking for a recap of the entire week. Below are a few of my favourites from the week.

Fashion week happens twice a year (Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter) and I highly recommend to go see one of these shows if you haven't already. Not only is it an experience on its own but it is to also support the wonderful talent that we have here in Toronto. ^_^

Day off

I own more dresses than i do anything else in my closet and I love how easy they are to put together. The shift dress was the perfect option last week as it gave me the comfort I needed while dealing with a stomach ache. I was sick for the past week with a stomach virus and trust me it was horrible. My body did not allow me eat or drink anything and all i wanted to do was stay in bed. I am almost back to normal now after a dreadful 5 days just in time for Toronto Fashion week. You know, I can't afford to be spreading germs in the fashion tent :)

Between juggling work, family and friends, blogging, and wedding planning, things can sometimes get too overwhelming. This is why I always look forward to long weekends. It is then when i can take time for myself and re-energize; figure out my priorities and clear my head. With that said, I hope everyone is having a safe and amazing Thanksgiving weekend. Don't forget to count your blessings!

Review: Punky Colour in Plum

Hi guys! I have another review to share with you today. I've gotten really bored of my hair and decided it was time for a change.

About: Punky Colour by Jerome Russell is a "semi-permanent conditioning hair colour" that comes in a wide range of vibrant colours anything from spring green to flamingo pink. This is actually the second time I've used Punky Colour and i really like it because it does not require any peroxide and so does not damage my hair. I would say it is much more like a colour deposit rather than a dye. The colour deposit  comes in a 100ml tube that looks much like something you would find in an art store. It retails for $10.95 at Toronto Barber and Beauty Supply but it is also available online through Amazon and other online retailers.

Process: The colour I bought is "plum" which is a rich purple. The product actually smells like a grape popsicle! I'm not sure if they all smell like that or if it's just because it is purple and a coincidence. Unlike other hair colour products punky colour is applied to clean dry hair. I applied it with a tinting brush and left it in for 45 minutes. The directions suggests anywhere from 15-30 minutes but I wanted the colour to really soak in. After that I rinsed my hair and wash as normal.

Result: The purple turned out darker than i personally wanted but that was my own laziness. I should have mixed it with a white conditioner to lighten it but it is still a very rich purple. It is of course much brighter in the light and my hair doesn't feel damaged or dry. The direction says that the colour may last up to 40 washes but that depends on hair type, condition and also how often it is being washed. But remember it is semi permanent so the up side is that you can change your hair colour as often as you like :) Have any of you guys tried Punky Colour by Jerome Russell and what are your thoughts?

Tip: add a little bit of the hair colour in your daily conditioner to make your colour last longer.

Melted Caramel

Happy October everyone! I can't believe it is already fall and 2015 is a short while away. Although I'm personally not a big fan of fall it does have its perks. With fall comes chunky sweaters, cosy socks and pumpkin flavoured everything. To be honest, I haven't tried the pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks yet but I've heard good things so i guess it's good. Well in keeping with the autumn weather here's an outfit that i thought was very fall like. My sister didn't like the "ugly poop" coloured sweater but i thought that it was a nice caramel that went perfectly well with some classic black and gold.
