Canadian International Autoshow

I hope everyone had a wonderful family day long weekend. My boyfriend and i spent saturday at the  Canadian International AutoshowFor those of you who's never been it takes place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre where car companies display their newest model for the public to view and try; You can think of it as like a huge dealership. But to be honest, nothing really stood out to us  this year, maybe because we've been 3 years in a row but still we were quite disappointed. I actually would recommend going every other year because car models don't change much from year to year.

I knew we'd be doing a lot of walking that day so i wanted to wear something comfortable. I found this dress at forever 21 a few weeks back and i simply just love it. It's formal enough for the office and dressy enough for dinner. ^_^

How did you spend your family day?

Cookie & Champagne party

Yesterday I went to the third annual cookies & champagne party hosted by the girls from the Hip and Urban girl's guide. How it works is that prior to the event, everyone bakes (no store bought) 3 dozen cookies and bring it to the event with a little card explaining their creation. For those that didn't bake or didn't have the time, aka myself could have purchased a networking only ticket and still attend the event.  There were 200 guest and over 5000+ cookies, enough sugary goodness leading into valentine's day.

My favourite part of the night was when we were were allow to fill up our ziplock bags/ containers with all the yummy cookies. Now you could imagine what a room full of girls and free stuff would look like? Yup almost as crazy as boxing day. I had a great time with good food and good company and i'm already looking forward to next year. Now that as i am going through my pictures i realized that there were so many cookies that i totally missed because i was too busy taking pictures.

What do you guys think about the event??
Enjoy ^_^

Aren't these the cutest cupcakes ever??

Let me take you out

It's date night again! So my boyfriend and i decided that we would each take turns monthly choosing a different restaurant around Toronto to take each other out on dates. To be honest there's actually a lot more of Toronto that we haven't explored yet because most of the time we stick to what we know and that's about it. i know.. total fail. -_-"

And so the good things about this new routine is that...
1. takes the stress off my boyfriend a bit from always having to plan dinners
2. there's always something to look forward to monthly
3. we get to try new places together
4. and lastly, another excuse for me to dress up ^_^ heehee

Anyways, so for my turn this month i decided to take advantage of winterlicious. I initially wanted to try Lee's, but because i'm such a newbie i called a few days before and the only time slot they gave me was 10pm on Saturday. Total fail again.... so I ended up making reservations at Benihana, a japanese teppanyaki steakhouse located inside the Fairmount Royal York hotel. My overall opinion? service was good, food was good but it wasn't anything extreme compared to other teppanyaki places that i've been to.

Did any of you go out for winterlicious?
Are there any good restaurants that you would suggest?

i'm a bit camera shy...
